"Don't ever get a tattoo, Orihime. They're one of the worst things you could ever do to your body." That's the story her brother had been driving into her head for years, and she had coveted his opinion.

Tattoos were one of the most disgusting things someone could ever do, next to drinking and smoking. They permanently marred your skin for life, sagged with age and turned into barely recognizable blobs, and could cost you your job; even the so called "artists" who would turn your body into their own personal canvas were shadier than an underground subway. They were always covered in the grotesque body images and tended to have distracting piercings as well.

A young girl, about seventeen, with reddish-orange hair, sparkling gray eyes, and a very prominent hour-glass figure stood in front of the stove. She stirred the questionable meal, consisting of onions, stew-meat, red peppers, spicy tuna, pickles, and a strange mixture of milk, an unknown broth, and half a bottle of Tabasco, bubbling dangerously in the pot sitting on the burner. It was Saturday and she and her brother had the day off, but she was going to meet her boyfriend at the school pool once she was done preparing lunch.

"Good morning, Orihime," a tall, thin man with blackish-brown hair yawned as he entered the kitchen. He was wearing red, flannel pajama pants and a gray t-shirt. Orihime had never seen her brother without some kind of shirt, and sometimes her imagination would get the better of her.

"Good morning, Sora," Orihime exclaimed and laughed, "or should I say good afternoon? It's already one-thirty."

"It is?" Sora said in disbelief. "Geez, I must have really checked out," he rubbed the back of his head and sat down, "so what do you have planned for today?"

"I was planning on going to see Ichigo once lunch was done," Orihime replied happily. "We're going to go and see a movie after he's done with practice."

Sora hid his face behind the paper and a disgruntled sigh sounded from the confines of the Classified section. "Orihime, I don't think you should be spending so much time with that Kurosaki boy. He seems a little...odd."

Orihime raised an eyebrow and scooped some of the toxic stew into a bowl for him. "Odd? How so?"

"I-I just think he acts a bit strange," Sora repeated from behind the paper. "Couldn't you spend your afternoon with someone else? What about Tatsuki?"

"Tatsuki's still on her trip," Orihime said gloomily. Her best friend had gone on a trip to Spain and still wouldn't be back for another week.

It was strange, both her brother and one of her closest friends had told her that they didn't like the fact that she was spending so much time with Ichigo. They said he was a little strange or odd. But he was her boyfriend, wasn't it normal for a teenage girl to spend a fairly abnormal amount of time with her boyfriend?

She set the bowl of swirling sludge on the table in front of Sora and kissed his cheek. "I'll be home later tonight, brother. Don't wait up for me." She quickly ducked out the door of their small apartment and ran down the stairs.

Sora sighed in frustration. He had tried to warn Orihime countless times about that Ichigo kid. Heaven knows how many times he advised her not to get too attached to him, or not to get so excited about him, and she never listened. He folded the paper and slowly began eating his lunch. She would just have to learn the hard way.

Orihime practically skipped through the busy streets of Karakura Town as she made her way to the high school. This was her and Ichigo's four month anniversary. She was so excited she could barely keep herself from running to the school.  Four months was a long time, but she knew it was only a stepping stone compared to what could happen.

Her mind slowly drifted into Orihime World as she imagined a life with Ichigo. They would graduate the same year and on the day of their graduation he would propose to her, a few years later they would have a handsome son who looked exactly like his father, and they would happily grow old together as they watched their grandchildren run around their house. Everything would be perfect!

Orihime entered the high school and made a bee-line for the pool area. Even though it was a Saturday, there were still students in the building. They would stare at her and snicker in some kind of inside joke as she walked by. She never knew why. They had just started doing that about three in a half months ago.

She quickly rushed to the pool area and giggled to herself outside the door. She was at least an hour early, but she didn't care. Ichigo would be surprised to see her so early.

The sound of splashing seeped through the door and echoed through the hallway. There was more than one person in the pool, but that was to be expected. A few of the boys on the swim team tended to stay behind to fit in some extra practice.

Orihime rushed through the door smiling. She was about to call Ichigo's name but was interrupted by the annoyed yell of another person's voice.

"Come on, Ichigo! How long do you plan on stringing her along?" a collected voice asked harshly.

Orihime ducked behind the diving board and peeked around the corner. Ichigo, Chad, Uryu, and Grimmjow were all huddled in a circle next to the pool, wearing their swimsuits. Uryu was a fairly tall, pale skinned boy with dark blue hair and specialized goggles to replace his glasses when he swam, Chad had dark brown hair that hung in his eyes, had an equally dark complexion, and was built like a sturdy mountain, and Grimmjow was a tall, muscular boy, though not quite as muscular as Chad, with electric blue hair and equally blue eyes. They were all huddled around the tall, muscular, orange haired boy with brown eyes and an annoyed look on his face.

"I'm not stringing her along," Ichigo barked, shifting his wet, orange hair out of his eyes. "I'm just not sure how I'm going to break it to her yet."

"Yeah, you don't wanna say something like 'Sorry, Orihime, but I'm leaving you for another MAN'," Grimmjow laughed obnoxiously. "Who knows what she might do if she found out you've been cheating on her with a DUDE!"

Ichigo pushed Grimmjow into the pool. He just resurfaced with a huge smirk on his face and folded his arms on the ledge.

"But seriously, man," he said shaking his hair and pulling himself out of the pool, "if you're gonna dump her, could you do it soon? I'd like to have a go at the little hottie with a body." He dodged Ichigo's punch with ease.

"I don't necessarily agree with Grimmjow," Uryu stated, "but he does have a point. You can't just keep pretending to have feelings for her when your...preferences don't involve her at all. It's not fair to Orihime."

"I know that!" Ichigo shouted. "But what am I supposed to do? I can't just go up to her and say 'Hey, Orihime, I'd like you to meet the guy I've been cheating on you with for the past three in a half months.' It's just not right."

There was a splash and he turned around just in time to see long, reddish-orange hair slip beneath the water. "Orihime!" He jumped into the water and pulled the unconscious girl out of the pool.

"Well, well," Grimmjow chuckled slightly, "it looks like he won't have to think of an excuse after all."

Chad and Uryu ran over to where Ichigo was initiating CPR on an unconscious, and soaking wet, Orihime.

Orihime coughed violently and opened her eyes. Ichigo was kneeling above her with a sorry look in his eyes. "Ichigo?"

"Orihime," Ichigo sighed heavily, "Orihime, I'm gay."

Orihime wanted to puke, cry, and faint all at the same time. So what she heard wasn't part of her imagination, he really was seeing another man behind her back. Now she knew why the other students had been laughing at her. They knew he was cheating on her with another boy, and they were making fun of her total ignorance.

"Orihime, are you alright?" Ichigo asked.

"I'm fine," Orihime replied dully and suddenly jumped to her feet, "excuse me!" She ran out of the pool building, soaking wet, and cried the entire way home. No one had told her she was dating a man who was just using her as a cover, and not even as a good cover!

She burst into her apartment crying her eyes out and ran into her room. Sora, who had been sitting on the couch watching TV, immediately jumped up and followed her; hitting his nose on the door as she slammed it behind her.

"Orihime," he shouted in worry as he held his stinging nose, "Orihime, are you alright?"

"No!" Orihime cried. "I'm not alright! Ichigo dumped me! No, he didn't just dump me, he's been cheating on me with another MAN for over three months! It wouldn't be so bad if it was a girl, but he ran around with a guy behind my back!"

Sora sighed heavily and supported his weight against the door with his hand. "I was wondering when he was going to come right out and say it, but I never once wanted it to hurt you so much." The door flew open and an enraged Orihime glared at him with tears streaming down her face.

"You KNEW?" she screamed. "You knew all this time and you didn't tell me? How could you just let me get strung along like that? I'm your little sister!"

Sora leaned back and held his hands up in surrender at his sister's sudden outburst. "I tried to warn you to not get too attached. And I haven't know this entire time," he explained, "I've only known for about three weeks."

Orihime dug her nails into her brother's shirt. "How did you find out, and why didn't you bother to tell me? You could have saved me the embarrassment of being laughed at by all of the other students because I didn't know that I was just being used as a cover up!"

"Calm down," Sora said firmly and pulled her hands off of his shirt with a slight ripping noise. "I found out by complete accident. I had to go downtown for a business meeting. My boss had sent me to that one tattoo and piercing parlor, Murciélago's Ink and Body Art, and I saw him in there asking about getting a tattoo...and," he trailed off. He couldn't tell her what else he saw. It would crush her already broken heart.

"And what?" Orihime demanded. "What else was he doing?"

"And," Sora took a deep breath and sighed, "I...might have seen him...kissing the boy behind the counter." He looked at the floor where the wall connected with the carpet.  Three....two....one....

Orihime pulled herself free of her brother's grasp and slammed the door in his face. She pressed her back against the wooden frame and slid to the floor. He had seen Ichigo kissing the boy he was cheating on her with and never bothered to tell her? Why?

"Orihime," Sora's voice called softly from the other side of the door. "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner, but I just didn't want you to get hurt. Besides, would you have believed me if I had told you?"

There was a pause.

"Probably not," Orihime finally answered after five minutes of silence. Her voice was heavy with tears and on the verge of cracking. Sora was right. She wouldn't have believed him, and probably would have slapped him for saying such a thing.

"You see?" her brother asked kindly. "Now, why don't you change into some dry clothes and we'll go out for ice-cream; my treat."

A few minutes passed and Orihime slowly opened her door. She was wearing a dry pair of yellow slacks and a dark blue-purple t-shirt. "Ready."

"I don't think you're quite ready to go out just yet," Sora teased slightly. "There's something missing."

Orihime raised an eyebrow. "What?" Sora suddenly tickled her sides and she burst out laughing.

"There we go," he said pulling his hands away. "You were missing that beautiful smile of yours. We can't go out in public without that, now, can we?"

"No, I guess not," Orihime smiled and wiped a tear from her eye. "Can we get going now?"

"Sure," Sora slipped his wallet into his back pocket and they left the small apartment. The first thing Orihime was going to have was a giant, triple scoop, waffle cone with Butterscotch, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Black Jack Cherry ice-cream covered with every topping they had. She would worry about her boyfriend, or ex-boyfriend, problem later.
